The Turn Of The Century Electrotherapy
Steam-Punk Violet Ray Resonator
Designed and handmade by Jeff Behary
Part 1: Wind a Violet Ray Coil
The winding of this coil is based partly on the patents of Ralph C. Browne, 1904. . .
he was one of the first people to make a hand-held Tesla Coil.
The first patented was a "Self-Contained Hand-Electrode" by Thomas Burton Kinraide, filed 5. July 1904.
Ralph Browne filed his "Inductive System", which included a hand-held coil, on 19. August 1904.
Finished coil is on the right...
This is my rendition of what a VIolet Ray would have looked like if it was built in the early 1890s...
This simple piece has been one of the most rewarding projects I've done lately. A simple
Violet Ray coil is a lot of work to construct.
All wires are inlaid in carefully milled grooves...
