"Tesla Technology Research was recently contracted to design and
build a second one-to-one
scale copy of the famous Griffith Park Observatory Tesla Coil.
Dubbed the GPO-2 coil, this
second copy of the original GPO coil was commissioned by Richard and
Mary-Ellen
Mathias on behalf of the Mid America Science Museum (MASM), in Hot
Springs, Arkansas.
The grand opening for this new permanent museum display is slated for
November 20, 2002.
This coil will be installed on the main museum floor exhibit area, in a
custom designed
Faraday Cage. The following images were taken during the
construction stage of this
project. The entire system was constructed, tested, and shipped in
less then 60 days."
