5-Series 3/4" Diameter Tungsten Spark Gap


Drilling out heatsinks for 3/8-24 Tap

Tapped!

The heat sinks...6061 aluminum.  Fins are parted with a parting tool...

Other end has a 1/4-20 tapped hole

Here is how I tapped them...

Brian Foley sent me some awesome 3/8-24 silver plated copper set screws

Heating the tungsten disk...

Extremely hot still, brazed with very hard silver solder 

Two sections of the gap...needs polishing, but testing it first...

Really crude, but I can't wait to test it!
